About

How I work.

Design and strategy are the same discipline — I just refuse to let them be separated. The most interesting problems I've worked on live at the intersection: a user need that, when solved correctly, also shifts market position, unlocks revenue, or changes how a team makes decisions. That's where I spend my time.

Sometimes that intersection produces product — an experience that earns trust, drives engagement, and gives millions of people a reason to come back. Sometimes it produces a new organizational standard — like the Capability Experiment Builder, which started as a design question about how we evaluate ideas and became the company-wide framework for how product decisions get made.

I'm most useful when there's a hard problem that doesn't have an obvious owner. I find the frame, build the case, and bring the team with me into the room where the decision gets made.

Operating Principles

01

Design is a strategy material.

Positioning, pricing, roadmap shape — these aren't inputs handed down to design. They're part of the surface area we design. I work at the level where both happen at once.

02

Outcome over output.

The standard isn't 'we shipped it.' It's 'we proved it matters.' Every initiative I lead has a defined hypothesis, a success metric, and a move/refine/stop decision gate before a single line of code is written.

03

Infrastructure over artifacts.

Critique cadence, research rhythm, decision logs — these are the leverage. A team with the right operating model ships better work than a team with better designers. I build the system first.

04

Brevity is the forcing function.

If I can't make the case in one page, the thinking isn't finished. I force myself — and the team — to compress until the argument is sharp enough to land in an elevator. That pressure is the work.
